The Innovation Challenge (formerly the Calgary High School Hackathon) is a competition for students from grades 8 - 12 that encourages participants to demonstrate their problem solving skills that incorporate technology. Special thanks to the TELUS Calgary Community Board for their support of the Innovation Challenge. At the event, teams of 3-4 will create websites, apps or business plans to communicate their solution for problems in Calgary that comes under the theme "Support and Connect" . Problems that participants can address may include homelessness, youth employment, active living or others. With over $1500 in prize money as well as mentorship from the business community in Calgary, this is a must-go event for those who are interested in entrepreneurship, technology and problem-solving. No prior coding experience is necessary.
